Aging Out of Foster Care

For youth aging out of foster care, the transition to adulthood is a steep climb. The statistics paint a stark picture:

  • Homelessness: As many as 20% to 40% of former foster youth will experience homelessness within a few years of aging out.

  • Education: Less than 3% of these young adults will earn a college degree, despite a majority expressing a desire to attend.

  • Employment: By age 24, only about 50% of former foster youth are gainfully employed.

  • Support System: At a time when most young people rely on family for guidance and support, these individuals are often left to navigate life’s challenges completely on their own.

These young people are faced with a lack of life skills, educational instability, and the lasting effects of trauma. They are expected to become self-sufficient overnight, without the support and resources most of us take for granted.

Believe in Our Vizion is working diligently to change these outcomes.

By providing opportunities for these young adults to work towards a successful life, Believe in Our Vizion offers a crucial support system. Whether it’s through assistance with pursuing higher education, guidance in starting a career, or simply offering a consistent and caring presence, the organization helps bridge the gap between surviving and thriving. Instead of facing the world alone, these young people receive the extra guidance and mentorship they need to find their direction and build a stable, successful future.

Help Us Save Our Youth

The Importance of “Saving Our Youth”

Investing in our youth is not just an act of charity; it’s an investment in the future of our communities and society as a whole. Young people, especially those facing challenges like aging out of foster care, are at a critical crossroads. Without proper support, they are vulnerable to a cycle of poverty, homelessness, and instability.

Believe In Our Vizion is on a mission to break that cycle by “Saving Our Youth.” We believe that every young person deserves a chance to feel wanted, loved, and encouraged to be their best self. By providing a stable foundation and a nurturing environment, we empower them to build a brighter future.

However, this vital work requires continuous support. To feed, clothe, educate, and guide these young adults, we need a steady stream of resources.

  • Continuous Donations provide stability: Imagine trying to plan for a young person’s education or housing without knowing if you’ll have the funds next month. Continuous donations, especially monthly recurring gifts, give us the stability to plan for the long term. This means we can guarantee meals, maintain a safe living environment, and ensure access to ongoing educational and career support.

  • Donations are the lifeline for essential services: Every dollar you contribute goes directly to providing the basic necessities that many of us take for granted. Your generosity helps us provide nutritious meals, warm clothing, and a safe place to sleep. It also funds critical programs that teach financial literacy, life skills, and emotional resilience.

  • Donations build a foundation for success: The guidance we provide is more than just a temporary fix. It’s about building a sense of self-worth and confidence. By showing these young adults that they are valued and supported, we encourage them to set ambitious goals, whether it’s attending college, starting a fulfilling career, or simply finding their purpose in life.

By donating to Believe In Our Vizion, you’re not just giving money; you’re giving hope. You’re helping a young person feel wanted and loved, and you’re providing the encouragement they need to overcome their past and build a successful future. Your continuous support is the key to creating lasting change and ensuring that no young person is left behind.

25 DAYS OF GIVING

The spirit of Christmas is about giving, and at Believe In Our Vizion, we believe every young person deserves to experience that warmth and generosity. This holiday season, we are thrilled to announce our special campaign: The 25 Days of Giving for Christmas.

This isn’t just about charity; it’s about making our youth and young adults feel seen, valued, and cared for during a time that can be particularly difficult for those without a traditional family support system. For 25 days, we will work tirelessly to ensure they are well taken care of, providing not only gifts to brighten their holidays but also warm meals that bring comfort and a sense of community.

But our mission extends beyond the holiday season. The challenges our youth face don’t disappear on December 26th. That’s why we are proud to announce that our “25 Days of Giving” will culminate in a special Christmas Gala on Saturday, December 13th. This festive evening will be our most important fundraiser of the year, bringing our community together to raise as much as we can.

The funds raised at our Gala will be the lifeline for our programs in the coming year, allowing us to continue providing the education, career guidance, and life skills training that pave the way for a successful future. Your support at the Gala will also directly contribute to making the holiday season truly unforgettable for our youth, enabling us to give as much as we can through thoughtful gifts and nourishing food.

Join us in making this Christmas a season of hope, love, and opportunity. Through our “25 Days of Giving” and our celebratory Gala, we can show our youth that they are not alone and that they have a community that believes in their vizion for a brighter tomorrow.
